ABOUT US

Chris Levis is no stranger to sports or sports equipment. At an early age he was exposed to the world of equipment fabrication in the workshop his father made in the basement of the family home.

Joe "Pops" Levis was a mask maker in the early 80s through to the 90s in Windsor, ON and was constantly mixing resins, testing plastics and laying different fiberglass clothes in molds in an attempt to construct the perfect mask.

The dream never flourished into a viable company but the experiences were never forgotten and we were always able to fix and modify gear for protection or comfort throughout our years of playing.

Growing up Chris played many sports. At age 13, hockey and lacrosse became the main focus until the age of 17 when Chris stopped playing hockey and focused completely on lacrosse.

From 1993 to 1997 while working in the local sporting goods store, Chris played Jr. A lacrosse for the Six Nations Arrows and in 1996 won a Mann Cup with the Six Nations Chiefs while also on their roster.

In 1998 he moved to the west coast to play in the WLA for the North Shore Indians. He played 3 years with that organization and in 1992 began a long tenure with the Coquitlam Adanacs which has lasted the last 9 seasons.

Chris also began his National Lacrosse League career in 1998.

He has played with the Buffalo Bandits, New York Saints, Calgary Roughnecks, Edmonton Rush and currently plays with the Colorado Mammoth.

In 2004 he celebrated a championship with the Roughnecks and in 2006 he won another with the Colorado Mammoth.

Aside from his playing in the NLL, Chris has been an active member of the Professional Lacrosse Players Association.

He has served as a player rep since 2000 and has sat on various committees with the union including the Competition Committee, Continuous Improvement Committee and the Negotiating Committee.

In 2007 Chris was one of three players that helped with the collective bargaining agreement seeing the NLL and PLPA come to terms on a 5 year contract. Chris continues to work closely with the PLPA today, adding input on equipment rules and regulations.

Previous to founding Levys, Chris was involved in strength and conditioning and health club management. Over the course of 6 years he helped build one of Canada's top-rated health clubs and was also in charge of the off-season conditioning for several of the BC Lions football players.
